A tough opening 20 minutes in Finglas saw the hosts go 2-3 up with no reply, until a Rachel Brennan free opened the account for Brigid’s.
Points from Amy Clavin and Ellen Gribben were followed by another Isles goal.
Ellen and Rachel would score again, but the home side brought their goal count to 5. Amelia Ryan scored a crucial Brigid’s goal before half time to go in 5-4 to 1-7 at the break.
Second half points from Ellen Gribben, Amelia Ryan, Caragh Courtney, and Tara coffey were accompanied by frees from Rachel Brennan. Isles chipped away at the points however and their total would prove too much against a very good Isles side.

The girls welcomed St. Finian’s of Swords to Russell Park yesterday evening where the recorded a win. St. Brigids were the more dominant side throughout using space well and excellent tracking back and defending to earn a well deserved win.

Our third team were also at home in Russell Park, opening their league campaign with their first game.
Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels were their opponents who gave the home side a strong, physical welcome in what was a very tough game.
St. Brigid’s cleverness in attack was the ultimate difference making it count where it mattered finding the back of the net twice. The girls in red victorious on the night.
