Senior Hurlers
This weekend saw our AHL 1 team go top of the table as they made it 3 wins from 3 after beating Ballyboden St. Enda’s 0-26 to 5-5.

St. Brigid’s played against a strong breeze in the first half on the top senior pitch trading points in the opening minutes. The home side pushed into the lead with scores from Paul Winters, Liam and James O’Connell, and Diarmud Breslin. Strong defensive play from Cathal Doyle and Eoin Leen kept Boden scores to a minimum. Boden stayed in the game with 2 soft goals conceded by St. Brigid’s who went in at the break 2 up.

The McGuirk and O’Connell brothers led the line with scores in the second half, with the McLoughlin brothers impacting from the bench. Boden would match their point tally of 5 with 3 goals in the second half. Points from Paul Winters, Kieran O’Sullivan and Donnacha Ryan’s defensive performance sealed the win.

The Seniors will battle it out to maintain their top spot on April 12th as they take on All Ireland Club Champions Na Fianna in Mobhi Road at 6.15pm.

Junior 5 Hurlers

Our Junior 5 Hurlers played their second league game away to Cuala Sunday afternoon. Playing against the wind in the first half St. Brigid’s led 5 points to 4 before an excellent second half performance saw them home by a score line of 0-16 to 0-08.

All 11 second-half points came from play whilst at the back Cuala were shut out as they chased goals to rescue the game.

With two wins from two they too like the Seniors, sit on top of AHL 5. Next fixture is against Ballyboden St. Enda’s in Russell Park at 11am on Sunday 13th April.

Junior 7 Hurlers

Our Junior 7 Hurlers were unlucky to be narrowly beaten by a single point Sunday morning by a formidable St. Jude’s side on a scoreline of 0-11 to 0-10. They too are back out in two weeks time in a local derby vs Naomh Fionbarra in Pope John Paul II Park at 11am.
