Laytown, Meath / Blanchardstown, DublinSMITH (née O’Callaghan), Valerie (Laytown, Co. Meath and formerly of Clonsilla Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15) May 30th 2022 (peacefully) surrounded by her family and in the loving care of the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Cherished wife of Peter and much loved mother of Ann-Marie, Damian and Emma. Sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughters, sisters Rita and Pauline, grandchildren Daniel, Kate, Cillian and Rian, sons-in-law Fergal and John, Damian’s partner Katherine and her son Zach, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. R.I.P.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Blanchardstown on Wednesday evening (1st June) between 6pm and 8pm. Removal to St. Brigid’s Church, Blanchardstown on Thursday afternoon (2nd June) arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.30pm followed by burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery.

Camogie Inter Cup Nh Peregrine’s v Nh Brid – 19/5/22 at Nh Peregrine’s.

The Brigid’s girls played the played the first half with the assistance of a strong wind and took full advantage. Balls feed into the forward line of Niamh McCarthy, Aine NiMhurchu and Allanah McEnroe where quickly converted with goals from Aine and Niamh.

This was followed up by points from the half forward line of Amy Quinn and Ella Curtin. Amy Carey continued her excellent free taking adding points.

 

The Brigid’s defence of Mia Brown, Rachel Boyle and Ellie Raftery held Perengrine’s to no score in the first half. The goals where again in the safe hands of Jane O’Reilly.

The Half back line of Sara Higgins, Eimear O’Reilly and Rachel Carey quickly turned defence into attack with runs and accurate passes into the forwards.

The mid-field of Rachel Moran and Mikaela Griffin controlled the middle of the park working diligently  between the forwards and defence making the Peregrines players work hard for every ball.

The introduction of Carolyn McCarthy and Sarah Nyhan added more pressure to the Peregrine’s defence.

Peregrines with the assistance of the strong wind in the second half could only manage three points against the resolute Brigid’s defence.

The introduction of Aoibhinn Moran, Sinead Cuggy and the energetic Iseult Costello in the second half helped maintain the defence and pressure on the attack.

Beloved wife of Tom and loving mother of Louise and Ronan. Very sadly missed by her husband, son and daughter, daughter-in-law Mairead, grandchildren Aoife, Tara and Callum, brothers Justin, Ciaran, Cormac and Nicky (predeceased by her brother David), sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Jennings Funeral Home, Oscar Traynor Rd, Coolock, on Friday afternoon, 20th May, from 3pm to 5:30pm. Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of St. John Vianney, Ardlea Road, Artane, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton.
