Many Congratulations to Darren and Niall Flynn (recently joined St Brigid's members) on their great victory in the World Championships Mens C Doubles in Calgary, Canada. Darren and Niall played very well throughout a series of very competitive matches beating an Australian-UK combination in the final.

St Brigids Jonny Westlake recently won the Leinster Over 35 singles. After a tough Leinster campaign we wish him every success in the All-Ireland semis. In the Leinster final he won a three game battle against Meath's Joe Cummins 20-21, 21-6, 21-3.

Eoin Kennedy began his defence of his All-Ireland Senior Singles title with a convincing victory 21-9, 21-5, on Saturday against the up and coming Limerick player Pawdee Quish at the Talbots Inch venue in Kilkenny.
Eoin's next opponent will be the experienced Gavan Buggy from Wexford, next Saturday, at a venue still to be decided.

Carl Browne caused the only upset in the last 16 round of the Senior Singles. On Saturday at Mullingar he won a titanic struggle against Mayo's Joe McCann. After a close win in the  first game 21-17, he lost the second on a 21-20 scoreline. The third game was equally thrilling and the two players tied at 20-20. Carl on this occasion came out on top with a great kill off the back wall to win 21-20 in the match of the round.

Carl joins with Eoin in the All-Ireland Senior Doubles and we wish them both every success in the forthcoming doubles as well as the singles.

Enda Timony's time in the handball court over the last few years has almost always been in a coaching capacity. St Brigid's juveniles have benefited greatly from the time and effort he has spent in bringing on St Brigid's youngest players.
It is therefore a particular pleasure to congratulate Enda on his recent Golden Masters Dublin 40x20 Doubles title. It was great to see Enda back playing competitively and the skills which he passes on to our young players were clearly in evidence during his doubles final against a very strong Na Fianna pairing.

We look forward to continuing success for St Brigid's players at all grades.
