AHL 1
St Brigids 2-11 Naomh Fionnbarra 0-16
Our Senior Hurlers returned to life in AHL 1 with an opening day league win against near neighbours Naomh Fionnbarra. In what was a keenly contested battle from the throw-in two first half goals, one a piece from Ciaran Dolan and Paul Winters, would ultimately prove the difference at the final whistle.
Leading 2-06 to 0-10 at the break, further points from Winters, Pat Rohan and midfielder Daire Plunkett pushed Brigids 3 points clear. However, with Dublin Senior, Eamon Trollier Dillon at constant threat, Finbarrs were never out of this game. Brigids stronger bench made a telling contribution in the final quarter, helping to steer the home side over the line by the slimmest of margins, 2-11 to 0-16.
