Minors Hurlers dig deep twice in a week to reach league final
Our Minors hurlers were forced to dig deep twice in the space of a
week with two hard fought wins away to second placed Thomas Davis last
Wednesday and at home to Crumlin on Monday.
On Wednesday evening, Brigids rallied from conceding a goal in the
first few minutes to lead at half time 1-05 to 1-04 with Cian O Doherty
grabbing the goal.
Despite conceding two quick goals to fall behind by five points, all
players redoubled their efforts and led by a superb second half display
by Karl Rogers, with two goals, turned the game. Tadhg O Shea and Brian O
Malley put in excellent performances also to help see the lads over the
line, 3-12 to 3-11.
On Monday evening, the lads followed this up with superb win against Crumlin on Monday 2-11 to 2-09 to finish top of the league with an excellent all round display to fight back having gone behind by 5 points midway through second half. The lads have now qualified for the league final!
Well done to all the panel and management team.
