Junior Hurlers Beat St Pats Donabate to Move Top of AHL 7 2013-05-28 12:58:00

AHL 7 - St Brigids 1-13 St Pats Donabate 1-06

A great team performance by the home side on Sunday, considering they were short a few regulars, saw our Junior Hurlers make it two wins and a draw from three games in AHL 7. St Brigids raced into an early lead with two points from Neil Plunkett. St Pats replied with a goal against the run of play before Fergal Counihan, Neil Plunkett and Ciaran O Reilly added three more points before half time to leave the score 0-06 to 1-03.

Brigids were the happier of the two teams at half time after playing against the wind in the first half.  Rory Dunne playing at wing back  made a couple of great catches in the second half to lift the spirit of the home side.  With Tim O Leary's puck outs landing down on the half forward line, it was Fergal Counihan who turned provider setting up Ciaran Cahill to beat the full back to send the ball cracking to the net.  After this score it was all  one way  in favour of the home team, although St Pats got three points late in the game the home side had done enough to claim the two league points.
