Superb Second Half Display Sees Inter Hurlers into 1/4 Finals 2014-07-03 20:05:00

JBHC St Vincents 0-13 St Brigids 1-17

Our Inter Hurlers qualified for the Championship Quarter Finals with one game to spare after a battling 1-17 to 0-13 win over St Vincents in a sunny Pairc Na Uinsionn on Tuesday evening. Played in front of a large crowd both sides contributed to a hugely entertaining encounter, with some fine skill and score taking on show.

Brigids led a half time 1-07 to 0-08 following points from Brian Mulcahy, Fergal Counihan, Keith Morris and a long range effort from Macdara Butler. However, it was the visitors second half performance which caught the eye. A superb defensive display restricted Vincents to only 5 points in the second period while points from Morris, Seanie Keegan and two from midfielder Stephen Moore saw Mickey O Sullivans men over the line.

The lads face Faughs in their final Championship group game knowing that a win will see them claim a home draw in the quarter finals. The lads are also looking to maintain their fine league form when they take on Scoil Ui Chonaill at 6.30 in Russell Park on Saturday evening. All support welcome.
