St Brigids 1-11 Scoil Ui Chonaill 1-11
On Saturday evening our Intermediate hurlers battled all the way to
the end to earn a deserved draw against a strong Scoil Ui Chonaill team
in Russell Park. Three times in the final five minutes the lads trailed
by a point but refused to give up. With time running out Keith Morris
converted a pressure free after a foul on Seamus Lynam to tie up the
game from 45 metres out.
The game was keenly contested with both sets of players having very little time on the ball. At half time Brigids led by two points but should have been further ahead following some poor shooting in the first half. Fergal Counihan picked off two nice points from play while Keith Morris?s accuracy from placed balls was unerring throughout. Eoin Thynne was a constant treat at corner forward while Tim O?Leary?s puckouts were very accurate at finding his men.
Next up for Mickey Sullivan?s and Donal O?Doherty?s men is Faughs away in Tymon North on Tuesday week at 7.30 in the Championship. A win would see the lads claim a home quarter final.
