Hurlers Continue Push for Promotion With Victory Over Plunketts 2014-07-25 19:38:00

St Oliver Plunketts ER 2-13 St Brigids 1-20

Our Senior Hurlers maintained their push for an immediate return to AHL 1 with a battling 1-20 to 2-13 win over neighbours St Oliver Plunketts in Martin Savage Park on Saturday evening.

Played in glorious summer sunshine, Ger Ryans men displayed some superb attacking prowess with Paddy McAvenue particularly impressive. Indeed, the Brigids wing forward would amass 0-12 over the 60 minutes, with 0-09 coming from frees and 65s.

Driven on by the ever reliable midfield pairing of Cathal Doyle and Daire Plunkett the visitors, while never out of sight, did lead for the majority of the contest. A Kieran O Sullivan goal stretched the Brigids advantage while points from Brendan Lyng and Ruairi Dunbar settled proceedings.

Next up for Ger and the lads is Raheny in Russell Park on August 16th, followed by a top of the table clash against Crumlin in Pearse Park on August 30th.
