Smyth Goal Sparks Fingal Revival in Rachard Semi Final V Donegal - Tue, 27 May 2014
Nickey Rachard Cup Semi Final
FINGAL 2-11 DONEGAL 1-12
Fingal defeated holders Donegal in Letterkenny on Saturday in the Nicky Rackard Cup Semi Final.
Donegal were coasting, but let an eight-point lead slip as two late Peter Daly frees steered Fingal to victory.
The home side lost Danny Cullen to an ankle injury in the 59th minute and his absence was noticeable when the going got tough.
Donegal took command early on and led 1-8 to 1-0 after just 21 minutes.
Fingal hit back when St Brigids Dave Smyth drilled home from close
range and Donegal were soon reeled in with points from Daly, Kelly and
Foley.
Fingal now face Tyrone in the final in Croke Park on June 6th. Well done to Dave and the lads!
