Crumlin denied at the death as a Brigids Fox Pounces 2012-07-05 15:17:00

A last minute Keith Fox point saw our Inter hurlers claim a deserved 1-15 to 3-09 draw against Crumlin in this championship group decider in Russell Park on Tuesday evening. Crumlin started strongly and with former Dublin Senior Star Davey Donnelly pulling the strings for them at full-forward, Crumlin looked to be in control at half time as they led 2-05 to 0-06.

However, within minutes of the restart veteran full-forward Cian O Mahony plucked a long ball down from the sky and crashed the sliotar to the back of the Crumlin net, sparking a Brigids revival. Points from the excellent Eoin O Brien and Brian Mulcahy steered the Russell Park men into a two point led as the game entered injury time only for Crumlin to score, what looked to be a game clinching late goal. However, Brigids would not be denied and when midfielder Keith Fox collected the sliotar wide of the left hand side, he calmly slotted the ball between the sticks to leave the scores level after this pulsating tie.

Brigids finished top of their group with 4 wins from 5, while Crumlin finish second position. Both teams are in quarter final action on the weekend on July 21st. Brigids return to league action this Sunday, where they face O Tooles at 12 in Blunden Drive.
