Plunkett Hat-Trick Sees Junior Hurlers into Cup Final 2013-03-19 12:03:00

Millar Shield Semi Final - St.Brigids 4-13 Round Tower(Clondalkin) 3-05

St Brigids Junior Hurlers qualified for the Millar Shield Final on Sunday evening with a convincing win over Round Towers Clondalkin in Russell Park

The home side were under a lot of pressure in the first half playing against the wind and they struggled to get scores on the board and at half time they were two points adrift of the opposition. Indeed this could have been a lot more if it were not for two outstanding saves from goalkeeper Tim O Leary.

It was a much improved performance in the second half with Ciaran Dunne and Aaron Carolan controlling the half back line. They pushed forward with quality service into the forwards and this resulted in three superb goals from corner forward Neil Plunkett.
This team are in the Millar Shield Final with the opposition coming from Naomh Olaf. This will now be the second appearance for this team in a Hurling Final in three months. The lads also begin their league campaign on Sunday afternoon against Realt Dearg at 3 in Kiltipper Road.
