Junior Hurlers Strike At The Death To Earn Champo Draw vs Parnells

St Brigids 1-10 Parnells 3-4

St Brigids were always going to find this game tough as the opposition play in a league two divisions above them.Parnells got off to a great start with a point from play and a goal from a free. Neal Plunkett scored two points from frees to get Brigids on the score sheet, followed by two points from John Cussens from play. Parnells hit back with another goal and point before half time. (2-3 to 0-5).

Brigids had wind advantage in the second half but found it difficult to take full advantage of it. Eoin Mulville and Fergal Counihan were dominating the mid-field area for Brigids, with Neil Plunkett keeping them in touch with two points from frees. A missed opponunity from Brigids forwards enabled Parnells keeper to give a long clearance to their forward line which resulted in another goal for Parnells. Eoin McDonald added another point for Brigids.

As the minutes ticked away and the game going into injury time it looked like it was not going to be Brigids day, but a long range free from Neal Plunkett landed in Parnells goal area and quick reaction from Eoin Mulville netted for Brigids. This was to be the last piece of action as full time was blown on the puck out, leaving the game level.
