Senior Football Championship V Clontarf - Match Report   17/09/2018

Well done to our Senior Footballers who recorded a significant 2-16 to 0-10 win against Clontarf in O’Toole Park on Sunday in the Dublin Senior Football Championship.

The Russell Park side trailed 0-03 to 0-00 after 10 minutes as a Jack McCaffery inspired Clontarf sprang out of the blocks. Points from Lorcan McCarthy and Mal Tighe settled the Brigids men and by the 15th minute the sides were level 0-05 each. Brigids would dominate the remainder of the half outscoring their opponents 1-05 to 0-01 with Lorcan McCarthy finishing to the net after a blistering run and pass from Collie Carr.

After leading 1-10 to 0-06 at the interval, Brigids ensured that there would be no Clontarf revival as Niall Davey's brilliantly taken goal from 14 yards pushed Brigids further clear. Points from the industrious Paddy Maguire at wing back, McCarthy and substitutes Mark Donnelly and Conor Brennan saw Brigids over the line on scoreline of 2-16 to 0-10;

Well done to Kevin and to all of the team.
